Professional Profile

Siddharth Ashvin Shah, MD, MPH is the President of Greenleaf Integrative Strategies.  Dr. Shah is a board-certified preventive medicine physician with expertise in community/workplace resilience, trauma-informed care and peace-building, post-conflict leadership needs, disaster public mental health, and cross cultural health systems.  

Dr. Shah is a member of the disaster response community.  He has experience working in Ethiopia, Brazil, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, and has led teams to address community trauma in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, the 2002 violence in Gujarat, the 2004 tsunami, Hurricanes Katrina & Rita, the 2005 Kashmir earthquake, the 2008 Mumbai paramilitary attacks and the 2012 Wisconsin Sikh Temple attacks.

Since 2008, Dr. Shah’s firm Greenleaf Integrative Strategies has served the USAID Office of Civilian Response, USAID Office of Afghanistan and Pakistan Affairs, national service organizations and several international NGOs.  Greenleaf currently serves the USAID Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance and the US Office of Personnel Management.  The firm seeks to support people who do good in the world and prevent unnecessary suffering.

In addition to working internationally and with local groups on worker resiliency and staff care, Greenleaf has extensive experience working with and advising on the following: change management, cultural adaptation, interpersonal conflict, MHPSS (mental health and psychosocial support), team dysfunction, operational stress control, behavioral leadership, situational awareness and workplace performance.

Dr. Shah received his BA in Religious Studies from Rice University.  He completed his MD at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, with additional training at the Karl Menninger School of Psychiatry, Topeka, Kansas.  He completed residency in Preventive and Behavioral Medicine and received a Masters in Public Health from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York.
